CARACTÉRISTIQUES (Données à titre indicatif)

Le Rhin est un fleuve international par excellence. Il prend sa source dans les Alpes Suisse, située sur les flancs du Saint-Gothard dans les Grisons. Il se jette 1350 kilomètres plus loin dans la mer du Nord, en Hollande (Pays-Bas). Fleuve frontière entre la Suisse et l'Autriche, entre la Suisse et l'Allemagne, entre la France et l'Allemagne où il est alsacien sur 180 kilomètres et sépare le massif des Vosges de celui de la Forêt-Noire entre Bâle et Mayence. Il reçoit sur sa rive gauche l'Aar et la Moselle, sur sa rive droite le Main et le Neckar.

CHARACTERISTIC

The Rhine is an example of international river. It rises in the Alps, its source is located on the flanks of the St. Gotthard in Switzerland. It flows 1350 km later in the North Sea, Holland (Netherlands). River border between Switzerland and Austria, between Switzerland and Germany, between France and Germany where it is Alsatian of 180 km, it separates the Massif des Vosges and the Black Forest between Basel and Mainz. It receives on its left bank Aare and the right bank Moselle and the Main and the Neckar.

est une véritable tour de contrôle pour la navigation rhénane, basé à Gambsheim. Ses activités sont nombreuses et variées : Annonce et suivi des crues du Rhin en liaison avec les services allemands et suisses et EDF. Coordination entre services en cas de pollution. Information des usagers des bacs rhénans. Service d’annonce des hauteurs d’eau sur le Rhin, la Sarre et la Moselle pour l’information de la batellerie. Service de messagerie entre bateaux et armateurs. Enregistrement et suivi des transports de matières dangereuses. Alerte en cas d’accident de navigation.

 

CONSEILS / ADVICE

La navigation sur le Rhin présente quelques difficultés qui demandent une attention constante.

• Sur les courants et remous, afin de maîtriser vos manœuvres. Ils vous permettent aussi, de repérer les épis submergés le long du fleuve.
• Sur le balisage, à certain endroit le chenal est très étroit, particulièrement dans les parties sinueuses. Le balisage est matérialisé par des bouées ou balises vertes ou rouge suivant la rive.
• Sur la densité du trafic. Il n'est pas rare de voir sur le fleuve, trois ou quatre bateaux ou convois de front. Exemple : Deux doublant, un montant qui croise un avalant

• On the currents and eddies to control your maneuvers. You can also identify ears submerged along the banks of the river.
• On the markup. In some places the channel is very narrow, particularly in parts winding. The markup is materialized by buoys or red or green tags from the shore
• On traffic density. It is not uncommon to see on the river, three or four vessels or convoys front. Example: Two boats doubling, an amount crossing endorsement
